School Trips 2008-9

Dhahran British Grammar School has developed a tradition of exciting school trips and expeditions. In recent years we have been to China, Vietnam, the Indian Himalaya, and Borneo, Nepal, Berlin, Amsterdam, Oman and France. In 2008-9 we will have trips to Spain, Nepal, Vietnam and Oman.

Barcelona

30 students will make a fantastic 10 day school trip to Barcelona in October. The trip is for year 7 to year 11 students and the aim is to give students a meaningful first hand experience of topics studied in MFL, history, geography and science. I will be leading the trip and Mrs. Prudden and Mr. Stott will also be chaperones. Itinerary and details

Nepal

18 students from KS3 and KS4 will make a 12 day, mulit-activity trip to Nepal, led by Mrs Prudden. Itinerary and details

Vietnam

A two week multi-activity adventure in Vietnam, led by Nick Harcastle. Open to 20 students from KS3 & KS4. Itinerary and details

Applications

Students will be allowed to go on a maximum of two of the above trips. If you are applying to go on more than one trip, each application should be accompanied by an application form and deposit. You should indicate which trip is your prefered choice (1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice). Students will not be selected on the basis of who applies first. Participants will be selected by considering their behaviour in school, academic progress, participation in previous school trips and responses on the application form in order to be as fair as possible to all students. The school reserves the right to make the final selection of students.

Costs of the trips may vary due to factors outside out control (exchange rate fluctuations, fuel suplements, changes to flight prices etc.). Every effort will be made, however, to keep the costs of the trip to that stated. If a child is not offered a place on a trip, of if a trip is cancelled due to lack of interest, the deposit will be returned.
