For some reason the Everest Galleries I posted last week wouldn't work properly on Windows machines, so I have remade them. Your machine will still need a Flash player though. Your browser's back button should take you back to this page.
Our students have achieved incredible things over the last 6 years, with successful expeditions to China, Borneo, Vietnam and the Indian Himalaya. In 2008 we want to continue the tradition and will be heading Nepal for the famous and challenging Mount Everest Base Camp Trek.
Students will spend 17 days in Kathmandu and the Mount Everest National Park, with the main event of the expedition being the challenging 14 day trek to Mount Everest Base Camp.
The cost* of the trip will be SR7,500 and will include
Not included in the cost of the trip are items of personal trekking equipment that students are expected to provide for themselves.
You can read about our itinerary by clicking on the links in the table. The pictures on these pages can be viewed as a slide show.
The dates of the trek are may change slightly, depending on flight availability. Students will miss just 5 days of school. At this stage we are still planning, so there could be a few changes.

There are only 25 places. Students will be selected on the strength of their application, fitness level and on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you are interested in applying for a place on this trip, download and complete this application form (MS Word). Return it to the school office together with a deposit of SR1000** by Monday 18 June.
This will be a challenging trek and to complete it successfully you will have to be fit and determined. This means that you should be capable of walking for 6 hours a day whilst carrying a day pack.
If you sign up for the trip you must be committed to achieving and maintaining a high level of fitness.
Students selected for the expedition will be expected to work on a fitness programme from August until April. This will involve two ASA activities and some Thursday morning events.
Students who do not achieve the required level of fitness will not be permitted to go on the expedition as they will jeopardize its success.
* Please note that every attempt will be made to keep the cost of the trip to SR7,500, but should extra costs be incurred, for example due to rising air fares, we will have to pass these on to parents. The cost of the trip is based on 25 students. Should we have fewer students the cost of the trip per person may increase to ensure that the trip is viable. In either case, we will consult with parents at the earliest possible opportunity.
** Deposits will only be refunded if your child is not offered a place on the expedition or if the expedition has to be cancelled due to lack of interest.
This expedition is offered in association with ChinaClimb.
