INTERPRETING THE RESULTS

In the UK the bench mark for (I)GCSE success is measured in terms of the number of IGCSE grades between A* and C. National figures are reported in terms of the percentage of students gaining 5 or more A*-C grades at (I)GCSE level. The UK government  set  a target of 60% of all 16 year olds achieving 5 or more A*-C grades by 2008. In 2003 the provisional overall pass rate  was 51%

Dhahran British Grammar School is an officially accredited centre for the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme and for all Edexcel examinations. The Cambridge University International centre oversees the syllabuses and external marking of the final exams, which complete the two year course. All specialist staff are required to acquire IGCSE moderator qualifications through the Cambridge International Centre in the UK.
