HOMEWORK POLICY
Recommended homework times:
(These times do not include reading and spelling)
- Year 3: 30 minutes 2 times per week
- Year 4: 30 minutes 4 times per week
- Year 5: 40 minutes 4 times per week
- Year 6: 40 minutes 4 times per week
Typical Homework
- Year 3: 1 literacy, 1 numeracy, spellings, reading
- Year 4: 1 literacy, 1 spelling, 1 numeracy, 1 topic, spellings, reading
- Year 5: assigned weekly, spellings, reading
- Year 6: 2 literacy, 2 numeracy, SAT’s Revision in the Spring Term
Conditions
- Homework using the four day rule will apply only if based in the form of a contract with the children.
- Homework will be brought in every day without fail
- In the event of it not being brought in homework will be given to that child at the weekend.
- Homework must be completed to the best of ability.
- Any poor homework completed will be returned to the child and completed again at the weekend.
- Homework diaries must be kept up to date(where applicable) with all necessary homework noted down.
