On behalf of the staff here at Dhahran British Grammar School may I extend a warm welcome to all new and returning families at the start of the 2008-2009 school year.
I am delighted to have finally been able to take up the post of Headteacher and am thoroughly looking forward to what I expect to be a very rewarding year in terms of the forthcoming Council of International Schools accreditation visit and the proposed development of new facilities and improvement of existing facilities here on the Dhahran Campus.
Returning parents will remember that during the course of the last school year the school embarked upon a thorough self-evaluation process that will culminate in a week long visit by a team from C.I.S in November. The findings from this visit will form the basis for the future development of our school over the next few years.
Several improvements to facilities have taken place in recent years with some developments currently on going. As soon as further information becomes available regarding proposed developments those details will be communicated via our school website.
When I first visited Dhahran British Grammar School in May of this year, one aspect of the school that made a real impression on me was the positive relationship that exists between staff and students. Many opportunities are offered to the students in both academic and non academic areas and their enthusiasm is clearly evident as you walk around school.
Although I have spoken to a small number of parents I hope the forthcoming back to school days and other events after the mid term holiday will enable me to meet up with more of you.
As in previous years our school website will provide up to date information regarding school activities and relevant school policies. The numerous Galleries give an insight into the wide range of activities offered.
I hope you and your families have a successful and enjoyable school year.
Ian Jones
Headteacher
