England!
Every year students in Key Stage 1 and 2 dress in costumes that represent their native or adopted countries. It makes for a colourful parade around the school. The diversity of our student population is outstanding. Although 46% of the students are British, no less than 35 nationalities are represented - Algeria, USA, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Britain, Canada, China, Colombia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Egypt, Eritrea, Philippines, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sudan, Thailand, Turkey, Trinidad, Tunisia and Venezuela.

Last week we celebrated the diversity of our school community during International Week.
The children developed their understanding of a wide variety of countries through talks, songs, stories, food, art and craft activities and research using books and the internet.
We were delighted to welcome parents into school to present information about their home country, share pictures, images and artefacts, cook, sing and tell stories.
We concluded the week with the children from Pre-reception to Year 6 parading around school in costumes or colours from their home country. Some parents also dressed-up and joined in with spirit of the occasion. Foundation and Key Stage One sang songs from France, Australia, Mexico and a couple with an international theme.
On Wednesday, many parents sent in food from their home countries for us to share. The children enjoyed eating food from around the world and finding out a little about it. Many thanks to all the parents who sent food and information into school for us to experience.
It was a wonderful finale to a whole week of activities devoted to celebrating the international nature of our school community. We really appreciate the international spirit that parents, teachers and children demonstrated during the week and are confident that it will continue to enrich our school community.
