Foundation and Key Stage One Update

This year the children from pre reception through to Year 2 have settled extremely well and very quickly into their new classes. All the teachers and teaching assistants are very pleased with the way the children are settling down into routines and activities.

One of our regular events is the Foundation and Key Stage One Assembly that takes place every Wednesday morning. We celebrate children’s achievement and birthdays each week.

Certificates are given out to a couple of children from each class. We do this to encourage academic and social success and to reward effort.

Good work is shown by a couple of children from each class who have really tried hard during the week.

We celebrate the children who have had a birthday during the week or coming weekend. Stickers are given out, we sing our Birthday Song and blow out candles. The children clap Mrs Chapman if she manages to light all the candles with one match!

This week (ending 8th October) we had a special treat. All the children in Year 1 had made musical instruments in class and they played along to music for a lively start to the day. Mrs Snieder was particularly athletic on the air-guitar!

Photographs of the children with their good work and certificates can be found in the gallery - which will be posted soon.
