Key Stage 1 Science fair
Learning about the senses!

Year 1 held a science fair today in the Sand Dome. They spent an hour visiting different stations and carrying out experiments to learn about the senses. They learned about the sense of touch by working with sticky, smooth, rough and lumpy things. Blindfolded, they tried to identify different substances by the smell. An interesting trick with a spinning card taught them about the sense of vision. The best expressions were at the tasting station, where the teachers had concocted some truly horrible things for the children to identify. Finally, they made 'telephones' from stretched cords and plastic cups.
