Due to lack of interest we have been forced to cancel the Nepal and Vietnam trips scheduled for 2009. Students who have paid deposits for those trips can claim their refund from the school office.
School trips are of great benefit to students. Students develop greater independence and self-confidence. They learn about other cultures and become more open minded and tolerant. Travelling with peers for an extended period of time helps young people develop social skills and empathy for others. They learn about the history, geography and language of the country they visit. Above all, they learn that they are capable of meeting new and greater challenges. They are life changing experiences - not just a holiday.
We would still like to offer a school trip for this academic year, and would appreciate feedback from parents about what they are looking for, or would be willing to support. If you would like to help, please email Nick Hardcastle at nhardcastle@isgdh.org
