Following on from our highly successful school expeditions to China, Vietnam and the Indian Himalaya, Dhahran British Grammar School is heading for Borneo this year. Students in years 7-11 are invited to apply for a place on the Borneo Expedition - a trip of a lifetime in Sabah and Sarawak, Malaysia. This trip is offered in partnership with World Expeditions, one of the world’s oldest adventure and travel companies.
We will explore the indigenous cultures, limestone formations, jungles, forests and wildlife of Sarawak and Sabah, in the north of Malaysian Borneo. In Sarawak we will visit amazing limestone caves, walk the head hunters trails, stay in a long-house and explore the razor sharp limestone Pinnacles. Then we will travel by boat to Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah. Sabah is covered in impenetrable tropical rainforest famous for its unusual plants and fantastic wildlife. There we will ascend Mount Kinabalu, high above the azure waters of the South China Sea.
We’ll spend time with the orang utans at Sepilok, view the native proboscis monkeys along the Kinabatangan River and watch the giant turtles at Selingan Island. This is an expedition with great diversity and adventure.
