
Dear parents
I am delighted to announce a fantastic 10-days school trip to Barcelona Monday 20th October to Thursday 30th October 2008. The trip is for year 7 to year 11 students and the aim is to give students a meaningful first hand experience of topics studied in MFL, history, geography and science. I will be leading the trip and Mrs. Prudden and Mr. Stott will also be chaperones.

Take bus to Bahrain
Tuesday 21st
Fly to Barcelona through Istanbul, settle in hotel, city trip
Wednesday 22nd
Am: Spanish class, language + culture
Pm: Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell, Casa Milo, Rambla
Evening: tapas restaurant
Thursday 23rd
AM: science museum CosmoCaixa
Pm: Jardi Botanico/Aquarium Barcelona
Evening: cinema
Friday 24th
Coach trip Principality of Andorra
Saturday 25th
Am: “Olympic Barcelona” + cable ride
Pm: boat trip Mediterranean
Sunday 26th
Am: trip Figueres (Dali museum)/Girona(Arab baths), Codorniu winery
Pm: paella cooking course + dinner
Monday 27th
Fun fair Port Aventura
Tuesday 28th
Am: Montserrat excursion
Pm: FC Barcelona’s Nou Camp
Evening: youth disco
Wednesday 29th
Am: shopping
Pm/Evening: flamenco class + dinner + professional live show
Thursday 30th October
Fly to Bahrain through Istanbul and take bus to school

The cost* of the trip will be approximately SR 9,850 per student and includes:
• Airfare (including taxes)
• Insurance
• Accommodation
• All transportation
• All meals
• All attractions
If you would like your child/children to participate in the trip, then please complete the application form below. This, together with a non-refundable deposit* of SR1000, should be sealed in an envelope marked “Barcelona 2008” and returned to the school office no later than Sunday 21th May.
A maximum of 30 students will be allowed to participate. If the trip is oversubscribed, participants will be selected by considering their behaviour in school, participation in previous school trips and application form in order to be as fair as possible to all students.

*The cost of the trip may vary to factors outside our control (rate of euro, fuel supplement flight etc.). Every effort will be made to keep the trip cost to SR 9.850 or below. This will be payable by one deposit and two further instalments. If we are unable to offer your child a place on the trip, or if the trip is cancelled due to lack of interest, the deposit will be returned.
